The National Development and Reform Commission, along with other departments, has released an action plan titled Implementation Plan for Empowering and Enhancing Vocational Education through Industry-Education Integration (2023-2025)" on June 13.

The Plan proposes deepening the integration of industry and education in key sectors. It aims to promote industry-education integration in strategic emerging industries such as new-generation information technology, integrated circuits, AI, industrial internet, energy storage, smart manufacturing, biomedicine and new materials, as well as in service sectors such as elderly care, childcare and housekeeping so as to cultivate skilled professionals who can meet the significant demands of these industries. To this end, a series of industry-education integration sectors with distinctive regional characteristics and high-level industry-education integration associations and promotion bodies will be established in pilot cities and their respective provinces to drive industry organizations to actively participate in industry-education integration reforms.
